Just a thought – Tan solo un pensamiento…

I believe that once people have committed to having children and become parents, they should commit with all their heart and soul to love, respect, and teach them the good values of life. To teach them to always try to be better and humble. To teach them that they can always have a chance to start over no matter what happens.  As with these principles in mind, I believe that we have a better chance of creating a better future for human kind.

Yo creo que una vez que la gente decida tener hijos y se conviertan en padres, ellos deben de comprometerse con todo su corazón y alma para amar, respetar, y enseñarles los buenos valores de la vida. Enseñarles que ellos siempre deben de tratar de ser mejores y humildes. Enseñarles que ellos siempre pueden tener la oportunidad de empezar de nuevo no importa lo que pase. Porque con estos principios, yo creo que tenemos mejores oportunidades de crear un mejor futuro para la humanidad.

Today, I decided to volunteer in my daughter’s kindergarten class.  It was probably the best volunteer job that I have ever had in my life.  My daughter’s eyes expressed her surprise that I was one of the moms volunteering in her classroom.  My daughter knows that I am busy with work and many other things, and she never expected to see me in her class.  Seeing her eyes full of so much happiness and pride made my day!  I read, wrote, and helped clean the room along with the teacher and the kids.  I met all of my daughter’s friends and was able to see what they do in class.  I even had “little” cute conversations with many of the kids and learned about their favorite things to do in class.  I guess the teacher kind of liked me being there, as she asked me to come back again to read English-Spanish books to the kids.  I would recommend volunteering in your child’s class to anyone who is looking for ways to connect with their children and  get a glimpse of their world.  I look forward to doing it again without a doubt!

Hoy decidí trabajar como voluntaria como mama-ayudante en la clase de kínder de mi hija. Este fue probablemente el mejor trabajo de voluntaria que he tenido en mi vida, ya que pude ver en los ojos de mi hija la gran alegría y sorpresa de verme como una de las mamas que ayudaban en la clase.  Mi hija sabe que yo siempre me encuentro ocupada con el trabajo y otras cosas, así que jamás se hubiera esperado verme hoy en su clase.  El hecho de ver sus ojos llenos de felicidad y orgullo hicieron de mi dia un día hermoso.  Yo leí, escribí y ayude a recoger el salón junto con la maestra y alumnos.  Yo conocí sus amiguitos y tuve la oportunidad de saber lo que hacen realmente en la clase.  Tuve unas conversaciones tiernas y “chiquitas” con muchos de ellos y hasta aprendí cuál es su actividad favorita.  Yo creo que tal vez le caí bien a la maestra, ya que me invito a que volviera otra vez para leerle a la clase historias en español e inglés.  Yo le recomiendo a cualquier mama que trate de trabajar como voluntaria en la clase de sus hijos, ya que esta crea una conexión muy especial.  Además de que uno se siente simplemente bien al ver lo que ellos hacen y saber que estas ayudando en este tipo de actividad. ¡Yo lo haría otra vez sin dudarlo ni siquiera un Segundo!
